One of the hardest skills for a jewelry designer to
learn is making their loops uniform in size. An easy
trick is to place an 8mm bead on the end of your
head pin or wire and snip right at the top of the
bead. In five easy steps you can make perfectly
uniform loops every time:
- Place beads on head pin.
- Place an 8mm bead on the end of the head
pin.
- Snip off the excess wire just above the 8mm
bead.
- Remove the 8mm bead. What is left is just the
right amount of wire to make a loop.
- Using your round nose pliers make your loop as
you normally would.
If you like your loops larger you can use a larger
size bead. I personally prefer 10mm beads to the
8mm.
