It's often difficult to find the right
bail for your bead design. In those cases why not
make your own.
- Cut about 5" of wire. 22 gauge or less works
best. The heavier the bead the lower the gauge
needed.
- Using your round nose pliers fold the wire in
half and twist so that the bail fold is at a right
angle to the split between the wire. You want it to
hang so that the decorative ends are facing forward.
- Add a stablizer bead like our essential
heishes or saucer beads
- Add your bead and then another stablizer bead.
- Spread out the wire ends so the bead doesn't
slip.
- Use your roundnose pliers to form the bottom
loops facing each other.
We've presented just one design in this tip but with
a little imagination you could expand on it to
make lots of pretty and unusal combinations. For
example try making different types of loops or
colored wire for a little variety.
